How To Vote

About Me

I am a 737 captain based in DFW and currently serve as Deputy Chair—PAC for the APA Government Affairs Committee. As DFW Vice Chair, I will bring a thoughtful, strategic perspective informed by years of federal-level policy work and a record of advocating for pilots on issues shaping the future of our careers. With your support, I will continue that advocacy representing DFW pilots at APA and in the flight office.

Hired at American Airlines in January 2020, I got an early lesson in just how unforgiving the airline industry can be. Living through the turbulence and uncertainty of COVID-19 as a new hire showed me how vital it is for pilots to have strong representation—both at the bargaining table and in Washington, D.C.

I joined APA’s Government Affairs Committee in July 2022 because I wanted to be part of that representation. Since then, I have worked directly with federal policymakers in both parties to advance aviation safety, security, and the long-term strength of the airline pilot profession. I have also directed hundreds of engagements with Members of Congress through APA’s $2.8 million political action committee.

After graduating from the United States Naval Academy, I served 13 years on active duty, completing three deployments before returning to train the next generation of naval aviators as a reservist in Kingsville, TX. My wife, Cari, and I have been married for 18 years and reside in Fort Worth, TX, where we are raising our two children.

My Resume

My Priorities

I’m running because I believe I can bring a unique strategic perspective to the Board of Directors, and because my work representing pilots in Washington, D.C. has prepared me to represent pilots effectively as a domicile rep.

I also believe our brightest days are ahead of us
as a pilot group—regardless of which letters are ultimately over our union’s door—as long as our union leadership stays focused on line pilots’ needs and concerns. While I am offering some of my priorities below, my ultimate priority as your DFW Vice Chair will always be representing YOU!

    • Negotiate from a unified strategic plan grounded in pilot priorities, hard data, and clear, achievable objectives.

    • Maximize optionality and quality of life, giving pilots more control over both their schedule and their paycheck. Everyone—commuters, high-time flyers, professional reserves—should be able to build a schedule that suits their needs.

    • Ensure protections for the long-term future of the profession, including strong guardrails around automation, code shares, and joint ventures.

    • Guarantee a pilot vote on the strongest possible merger terms —protecting our voice, our hardworking professional staff, our benefit programs, and the value APA has built over decades.

    • Maximize voter turnout for the ratification election through deployment of APA resources, just as would be done for a strike or contract vote.

    • Strengthen APA governance by clarifying roles, improving accountability, and establishing a more coordinated structure across committees.

    • Reform the Article VII process, building better guardrails against its use as a political weapon and ensuring that an unelected appeal board cannot remove duly elected pilot representatives.

    • Invest in DFW domicile infrastructure so APA can better meet the needs of our union’s largest pilot group.
